Honestly, when dining in at restaurants became a “taboo” due to the recent pandemic situation, I was feeling down as it will also mean that media tastings are potentially affected.
But… … not for Texas Chicken!
Unlike my previous two times at their physical media tastings, this time they had it all planned out…
As they had transformed it into a virtual + physical experience which I thought was so cool beyond words!
At first, I was like… “Does this even work?!“
But hey, it turned out to be a true eye opener and I can’t wait to share my experience here with all of you. (Do read till the end because you can have the chance participate in the activity as well!)
So… A “meeting time“was set, and here’s our meeting venue – Zoom!
It was interesting meeting everyone there on a virtual mode!
The Texas Chicken team was in and we were given briefing on a virtual escape room game that we were were about to play. Honestly, I had no absolute idea how it would possibly work. (You can call me “Suaku“)
Every moment was a surprise.
We were assigned to random teams and grouped together to solve a puzzle that revolves around a mysterious storyline.
I will not be sharing most of the photos here as they may contain spoilers to the game. But here’s one as a teaser: (looks exciting… right?!)
The team I was assigned to was an enthusiastic one. The puzzles were solved pretty fast (despite that it was not easy!). Using Zoom, it was convenient to communicate as we were able to type and talk to one another while figuring out the puzzles.
We were told that we were the first team to accomplish the task! (YAY!)
Our proof of completion:
(Ignore the “Low battery” signal on my screen =_=”)
I was so excited to capture this finisher screenshot that I had no time to plug in my adapter.
And suddenly, my door bell rang.
DING DONG!
I jumped up and ran to the door.
It was Texas Chicken! *Squeals*
The team had delivered their latest Texas Chicken Salted Egg Fried Chicken to all of our doorsteps while we were keeping ourselves busy in the game.
Whoa, the moment I opened up the box… It was heaven. The smell of salted egg crisps filled my room and I totally love it! I have always been a HUGE fan of anything salted-egg related.
Look at those golden crisps scattered on top of the chicken!
The set (Price: $10.60) comes along with two pieces of chicken, one small mashed potato, one honey butter biscuit, and one regular Sjora Mango Peach.
I have to say this salted egg flavour is a complete satisfaction. It has a tinge of spiciness which is just right – and the meat was tender as well. It’s amazing how well-marinated they were while the flavour of salted egg seeped into the juicy meat.
Every bite was just… bliss. Even for a small-eater like me, the 2-piece meal did not seem enough!
And oh, oh … … Did I mention that I really love Texas Chicken’s famous honey butter biscuit?! It is always my to-order on the menu whenever I visit their outlets. Baked to a golden shade, you can just imagine the taste when it touches your taste buds. Crunchy on the outside, and soft in the outside with a tinge of honey butter (but yet it’s not overly sweet!)
