5 FREE Activities to do in Singapore this Weekend (23 – 24 August 2025)

1) Visit: United Buddy Bears at Gardens by the Bay

The United Buddy Bears have officially made their grand debut in Singapore, now proudly displayed in front of the iconic Supertrees. This internationally renowned exhibition, jointly organised with Buddy Bear Berlin and presented in collaboration with the Embassy of Germany in Singapore, features 150 life-sized bears, including 145 uniquely hand-painted by artists from around the world, each representing a message of peace, unity, and cultural diversity.

2) Visit: Sembawang MRT Bazaar

From 22 August to 7 September, the area right outside Sembawang MRT will come alive for 17 days of non-stop food, music, and fun. With over 40 food and beverage stalls, visitors can enjoy everything from smoky satay and crispy street snacks to hearty noodles, fried chicken, sweet desserts, and more — with plenty of Muslim-friendly options available.

Alongside the mouthwatering eats, the event also features lively carnival games, live music performances, and the unmistakable energy of a bustling pasar malam. It’s the perfect spot for an evening stroll, great food, and quality time with friends and family.

3) Visit: Singapore Night Festival at Bras Basah.Bugis

Did you know some of the most iconic spots at #SGNightFest once had fascinating past lives? The Bras Basah.Bugis precinct, rich in history and culture, transforms into a vibrant playground where art meets heritage during Singapore’s largest nocturnal festival. From 22 August to 6 September 2025, visitors can look forward to an immersive journey through captivating stories for both old and new, that bring the night to life in unexpected ways.

4) Visit: Shop, Beauty, Fashion

5) Visit: Presidential Pop-up Library at Plaza Singapura

Singapore’s first-ever Presidential Pop-up Library has opened at Plaza Singapura, launched in collaboration with the National Library Board as part of its 30th anniversary celebrations. This unique and immersive experience features over 60 specially curated titles, including personal book recommendations from President Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Dr Tony Tan, and Madam Halimah Yacob, along with books inspired by all nine Singapore Presidents.

Visitors can explore an Istana-inspired display, engage with interactive exhibits showcasing presidential quotes and oral histories, and take on a quiz challenge for a chance to win a book from the collection. Part of the READ30 festival, this pop-up brings the joy of reading into everyday spaces. The library is open daily from 10am to 10pm at the Outdoor Plaza until 2 September 2025.


6) Bonus Visit: Mermaid Tales

Weekends just got a whole lot more magical at the Mermaid Tales event. Enjoy a whimsical experience perfect for families looking to dive into something unforgettable. Guests can immerse themselves in captivating storytelling sessions, be mesmerized by spellbinding underwater shows, and meet dazzling mermaids up close.
