3) Visit: Cheong Soo Pieng: Layer by Layer
Bringing the science of studying paintings to life, encounter the artist’s work alongside in-dept research into his artistic process and use of materials. Uncover untold stories behind selected artworks, and learn how an artist like cheong conceives, composes and puts an artwork together – layer by layer.
Date: 5 April – 29 September 2024
Location: City Hall Wing, Level B1, The Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery
4) Visit: A Lotus Turns To Light Exhibition
Created by Singaporean filmmaker and artist duo Mark Chua and Lam Li Shuen, the work responds to ArtScience Museum’s Oculus and the natural cycles of light within the environment.
Three movements were composed for different times of the day. Within each movement, the same three motifs repeat, interpreted through the time of day and the changing form of light. Woodwinds, tape loops, prepared guitar, vocals and synthesisers are used in a gentle balance of the physical and the ethereal.
Runs daily from 10am to 7pm.
5) Visit: Homeground: We Built This City
We hope you enjoy this week’s round-up of weekend activities to do in Singapore FOR FREE!
More importantly – stay safe and don’t say we NEVER share!
