Sansiri presents a selection of limited-edition hand-finished Giclee prints by Louise Hill at the Art Space of SIRI HOUSE Dempsey. Known for her colourful, vibrant artworks that explore the vernacular design of Asian popular and heritage culture, the Singapore-based artist will also take residency at the Art Space every Friday during the three-month exhibition duration.
The show’s title: Singapore Streets not only encapsulates the exhibition’s themes but is also the namesake of a new piece that Louise has created especially for the show at SIRI HOUSE. The sights and sounds of Singapore — their representation imbued with symbolism and meaning — are a constant source of inspiration for Louise. As with all of her designs, there is always a story unfolding in the windows that are signature to her art work.
Sunrise Songbirds is on view from 16 Feb to 14 May as part of ‘Singapore Streets’ by @louisehilldesign.
EXHIBITION DURATION:
16th February – 14th May 2021

4) Visit: Paw-verbs on the Lawn
Feline lovers have another activity to look forward to. Titled Paw-verbs on the Lawn, this new cat-themed exhibition at Kampong Gelam features a series of meow-tastic installations by Japanese artist, Mofusand (@mofu_sand).
Other than its adorable cat installations, Paw-verbs on the Lawn focuses on figures of speech in the Malay language that refer to felines. Among some of the speech are: “Malu-malu kucing” (like a shy cat), and “serta lalu kucing, tikus tidak berdecit” (when the cat is around, the mouse will not squeak).
Happening out on the lawn of the Malay Heritage Centre from now till 30th May 2021, entry is free-of-charge.
