5 FREE Activities to do in Singapore this Weekend (10 – 11 September 2022)

Wondering what to do this weekend? Here’s the SG Lifestyle Team’s weekly round-up of FREE WEEKEND ACTIVITES TO DO IN SINGAPORE (well, mostly free) as we try to adapt to a new normal while waiting for the current COVID-19 situation to improve.

This includes a mixture of virtual/digital events/activities you can do at home, as well as physical events/places to visit/attend. Nevertheless, please do your due diligence to do your part to stay safe.

Recommended Advisory Notice: Let’s play our part to Stay Safe during this period:
Wear a mask and see a doctor promptly if you are sick! ⁣⁣
Wash your hands regularly and properly using soap and water! ⁣⁣

1) Visit: Hello Future: Fantastic Paper Planet Exhibition

As you walk through the lush surroundings of Singapore Botanic Gardens and encounter these artworks, they will remind you to appreciate the environment around you and galvanise efforts towards protecting our planet for future generations. Be enthralled by the creations of preschool children, which draws inspiration from Earth, the planet we call our home.

Location: Nassim Gate Visitor Centre & Green Pavilion at Tanglin Gate, Singapore Botanic Gardens

2) Visit: Nothing Is Forever Exhibition

From the traditional to the peculiar, uncover artworks that push the boundaries of what is typically expected of the medium. The exhibition seeks to reveal the changing roles of sculptors as tensions between fine art and craft, the permanence of art and its ephemerality continue to be surfaced.

Location: The Ngee Ann Kongsi Concourse Gallery, Level B1, City Hall Wing

3) Visit: Arts in the City

Raffles City Singapore brings back Arts in the City exhibition, in collaboration with EYEYAH! — an educational and creative platform that uses art and design to educate and generate awareness about social issues amongst its audience. This year’s edition embraces the new era of art with an immersive display of digital artworks by 26 local and international artists that offer each artist’s perspective on the changing approaches and thinking in the art world on the pertinent issues of plastic waste and global warming.

Be captivated by the immersive display of thought-provoking animations and uncover the meaning behind each artwork at Level 1, Garden Court.

Find out more HERE.

4) Visit: Daily Fitness @ Gate 1

Sign up and take part in workouts of various intensity levels everyday at Our Tampines Hub Gate 1.

5) Visit: INFINITY KOSÉ Pop-Up

The pop-up is in celebration of the Japanese beauty brand’s 20th anniversary. Located along Orchard Road in front of Ngee Ann City, the space has a couple of photo spots starting at the entrance where you can strike a pose in front of the blue arches.

Location: in front of Ngee Ann City, opposite Paragon
