2) Exhibition: REDACTION

REDACTION showcases works of abstract art that investigate and interrogate various conceptions and modes of abstraction. The exhibition’s thematic concerns relate to the restriction of access and loss of transparency in the acts of creation and construction, as well as issues of legibility and obscurity in relation to the recollection and interpretation of narratives, both personal and political.

4) Visit: Seeding Sovereignty

Seeding Sovereignty is artist Chu Hao Pei’s attempt to provide an alternative mode of seed distribution. The work takes the form of a seed library, and is designed to build on shared knowledge, affirm our mutual dependence, and reimagine different ways of organising ourselves. It emerges from the artist’s long-term interest in rice and its circulation within Singapore and Southeast Asia. On view at Jurong Regional Library till 24 July 2022 before its last stop at Tampines Regional Library.

5) Exhibition: Sender of Wishes

Catch the sculptural installation at Esplanade before it ends. Comprising of domestic and urban structures alongside toy figures of various forms and sizes that traverse the Esplanade Concourse. Crafted from wood, Gatot Indrajati’s animated characters and arrangements draw upon long-established motifs in the artist’s works, often informed by his observations of everyday life. Conceived in the context of the ongoing pandemic, this spirited installation suggests that each individual is a conduit of hope during these challenging and disruptive times. Vibrantly coloured, Sender of Wishes is also an effort to offer a spark of optimism, kindling positivity through this imaginary world.

Venue: Esplanade Concourse
When: 22 Dec 2021 – 10 Jul 2022,
Venue: Esplanade
